Brant Douglas Simkins

Peacefully, on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 at the Chapman House Hospice, Owen Sound, in his 81st year.  Brant, of Owen Sound, beloved husband of Marliene. Loving father of Tammy Downs (Bruce Tannahill), Doug Simkins (Heather), Andrew Simkins (Jeanette), Joe Jenkins, and Steve Jenkins.  Proud Grandfather of Derek Downs (Kristina), Jennifer Stewart (Kyle), Cory McPhee (Sarah), Sara Turner (Josh), Justin Simkins (Madi), Candace Sprung, Brittany Sprung (Ben), Mary, Brenden, and Jude, and many great grandchildren.  Dear brother of Kemp (Carol), and Terry (Shirley), and brother-in-law of Anne Simkins.  Brant will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents Douglas and Edith Simkins and by his brother Baxter.

Brant was a dedicated professional firefighter for nearly 30 years, and a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 55 years.

Friends are invited to join the family on Sunday, May 6th, 2018 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm for a Come and Go Celebration of Brant’s life at the Owen Sound Royal Canadian Legion, 1450 2nd Ave West.
