Guided by the Country Lane Angels at Chatsworth, Mom has peacefully made her way home to her Johnnie. Eveline P. Eldred (nee Mills) died Sunday March 18th, 2018 in her 91st year with her grateful caring family by her side. She had a vast career following her husband (our father, John) on their many backpacking adventures throughout Europe, North Africa, and of course, Canada. She performed for four decades with The Singing Mums, then The Upbeats, women who were neighbours and became forever friends. Eveline and Johnnie square-danced and did interior camping, both with family and friends. She found community in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and found and gave joy by singing in the choir. She chose her final stop, Country Lane from doing so many performances there for the seniors: “that place just makes me feel good”, she said. Her great pride was in her children Randall John (Cheryll); Anne (Doug); Peter and Marcia (Jim Masterson) along with grandchildren Katrina (Tasha); Chuck (Camille); Jeff (Jenna); Jarin (Lindsi); Kieran and Conor and great-grandchildren Rayden; Ethan; Brya; Kaiden and Kerr. She’d listen intently to their stories and adventures and was even offering advice in her final days for a new great-grandbaby coming. Friends will be received at the Tannahill Funeral Home, 1178 4th Avenue West, Owen Sound, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday March 23, 2018, at 2pm at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 865 2nd Avenue West, Owen Sound.Spring interment, Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial donations to Chapman House Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
