Geraldine "Gerry" Lella (Dufton) Parkhill

Born in Thorndale, Ontario in 1930, Gerry was purposeful, helpful, and generous.  Service to family and community was the focus of her life.  She extended her love of the Baha’i faith into volunteer work in several countries around the world. “The earth is but one country and mankind it’s citizens” Baha’u’ llah.

Peacefully, at the Chapman House Hospice, Owen Sound on Sunday, December 22,  2019.  Mother of Ariel Barkley and her husband Phil Howard, and mother-in-law of Lynn Walker.  Grandmother of Nicholas Barkley (Emily), Laura Barkley (Brent), Eden Barkley (Chris), R.J. Parkhill-Reuby, and Mark Parkhill-Reuby.  Great grandmother of Rowan.  Sister of Edythe Fawcett.  Predeceased by her son Robert Parkhill.

A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 1:30pm at the Tannahill Funeral Home, 1178 4th Ave West, Owen Sound, 519-376-3710.

Memorial donations to the Chapman House Hospice would be appreciated by the family.

Gerry’s family wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Central Place Retirement Home where Mom enjoyed living.  Gerry’s final two weeks were spent under the devoted, professional care of the Chapman House Hospice staff.  Mom was tenderly cared for in this respectful, peaceful place.
