Dale Brennan Obituary

Peacefully surrounded by her family Dale Anne Brennan (nee Gilberds) passed away on November 12th, 2021 at the age of 70. Dale was the loving wife of John Brennan and proud mother of the late Darcy Gilberds. Predeceased by both her parents Walter and Alice Gilberds, brother Walter Gilberds "Slug", brother-in-law Doug Morrison, and nephew Stacy Smith. Also predeceased by her mother and father-in-law Bill and Phyllis Brennan, brothers-in-law Joe, Billy, and Leo Brennan and sister-in-law and best friend Mary VanWyck. Dale will be deeply missed by her sister Linda Smith-Morrison, brothers-in-law Fred VanWyck, Pat & Christine Brennan, and Rob & Millet Brennan, sister-in-law Valarie Brennan, and daughter-in-law Kim Gilberds and her very beloved dog Shelby.

Johnny and Dale loved spending their time together at the water where they would take hikes along the shoreline with little Shelby. They would sit and enjoy each others company while looking out at the Georgian Bay waves and the big beautiful white fluffy clouds. Dale's unspeakable bond with her sister Linda was something to be admired, they were definitely two peas in a pod. Dale was the world's best sister, where she without ever having to be asked would be there to help her sister raise her children while she was at work. We know how much Linda appreciated everything she did for them. And their Monday movie days will always be something Linda will hold close and dear to her heart. Dale loved being the godmother to Sarah Murphy, Amber VanWyck and Jerrid Fossold, and they felt very honored to have her as their Godmother. Dale was the aunt to so many nieces and nephews who will always cherish the memories she created for them. There is no doubt in our minds that the calling from the other side was to strong for Dale to ignore. As much as we who she has left behind are going to miss her deeply it does give us a sense of contentment knowing how many loved ones she is now reunited with. Dale has left behind endless amounts of pictures, as she was our family photographer. Dale always had her camera ready to capture that Kodak moment, we are all very grateful for that. Although Dale only stood at 4 foot 11 inches it was every child's milestone to reach her height, this didn't take to long as most of the kids in this family stand around 6 feet tall. Always surrounded by children Dale was everyone's favorite Aunt, all the children in the family gravitated towards her. She was so much fun and made every one of us feel just as special as the next. From hikes, to crafts and movie days she truly was the best. May the journey of her eternal life be as remarkable as the one she had here on earth. May her spunky loving spirit remain with all of us, we were so fortunate to have her in our lives. Until we meet again, God Bless. XO
