Donald James Allan

The 4 R’s are saddened to announce the passing of the longest living resident of Rockford. Donald James Allan, the “Mayor of Rockford”, died the morning of Monday, October 5, 2020 at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound with his family by his side.  Don, beloved husband for 59 years of the late Gladys (nee Van Wyck), affectionately known as Honey.  He leaves behind his children Robert (Jan McWhirter), Roy, Rosanne, and Ruth (Bryan Playford); 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and his brother Austin and his wife Vi. Predeceased by his son Donnie in infancy, his parents Howard and Hazel Allan, and by his sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Tony Dinspell.

The family would like to thank the staff on 6-2 at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound for their care and compassion.
