Donald Alexander MacIsaac

Peacefully, at Lakeridge Health, Ajax, on Saturday 12 August 2023 in his 91st year. Don, loving husband of the late Valerie (nee McArthur). Predeceased by his parents and sisters Margaret and Phyliss. Beloved father of Ann, Donna and  Daniel MacIsaac. Loving father-in-law to Mike and Kirsta. Proud grandfather of Liam, Evan, Nicholas, Valerie  and Jacquelyn. Don will be fondly remembered by family and many friends.

After their service in the Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Air Force, respectfully, Don and Val moved to Owen Sound in 1966. While raising their family, Don worked as an electrician with Russell Brothers, the General and Marine Hospital and the PPG glass plant. He served in the Grey and Simcoe Foresters, and Royal Canadian Air Cadets, and enjoyed community organisations such as the Bluewater Barbershoppers, Bluewater Curling Club, Royal Canadian Legion, Golden Kiwanis Club and Silver Cs.

A celebration of Don’s life will on Thursday 31 August 2023 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6, 1450 2nd Ave West, Owen Sound from 1:00pm to 4:00pm with a Royal Canadian Legion service and Words of Remembrance at 2:00pm. Private Internment will precede at Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound where he will rest with his beloved wife.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion’s Branch 6 Poppy Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
