Douglas Goldie Currie

Peacefully, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, Douglas Currie of Owen Sound passed away at the age of 73. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Heather Currie (Legge) for 47 years. Father to Michelle Croft, Amanda McManaman (Ryan), and David (Jaclyn). Proud and loving Papa to Ocean, Michael, and Jeffrey. Brother to Tom, Cathie, and Linda. Doug will be fondly remembered by Heather’s family. Predeceased by his parents Robert “Goldie” and Marjorie.

As per Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service is planned. Interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a later date.

His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Doctors, and the team of nurses and support staff at Grand River Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Cam Tweedie and Care Partners, who were so kind and caring to him in his final days.

In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Owen Sound Hospital Foundation in memory of Doug.
