E. Lorraine (Forsyth) Hodgson

Peacefully, at Summit Place, with family and loving nurses by her side on Friday, May 6, 2022 in her 89th year. Lorraine, beloved only child of the late Walter Forsyth and the late Jean (nee McClelland). Loving wife of the late George. Loving mother of Brad and his wife Doris, Brenda and her husband Larry McDonald, and the late Steven and his wife Terri. Cherished grandmother of Angela Taylor (Chris), Carrie Shute (John), Ryan Hodgson (Sarah), Shawn Hodgson (Lindsay), Keith Hodgson (Melissa), Sara Hodgson (Kris), Shane Hodgson (Errin), Tyler Hodgson (Kimberly), Andrea Bedford (Dave), Brady McDonald (Kristy), and Brandon McDonald (Natasha). Very proud great grandmother of 17 children. 

Lorraine's greatest love was her family and she made things special with all her good home cooking and baking.   She and George together hosted the special occasions, events, birthdays, Christmas, etc. with much love and everlasting memories were made. Her other loves were her Church and her faith, dancing, playing cards, her job at the office, bowling, helping George with his business, volunteering at Victoria school with the reading program after retirement, and her roses and her tulips. Picnics with George, her children and later her grandchildren gave her much pleasure.  She loved to bake and she said it was relaxing for her.   Tarts, pies and cakes and tea biscuits, cookies and muffins were her specialty.   

Memorial donations to the Summit Place Resident’s Fund or the CAMH would be appreciated by the family.

A private family funeral service will be held and live streamed from the Tannahill Funeral Home, 1178 4th Ave West, Owen Sound at 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.
