Edward "Ted" Paul Myatt

With great sadness the Myatt family announces the sudden death of their brother Ted, on November 19, 2022, at the age of 63 years.

Ted was the youngest son of the former Herb and Joan Myatt.  He leaves behind brothers John (Donna) of London, Rick (Teressa) of Leith, Bob of Winnipeg, and his sister Catherine Donnelly (John) of Toronto and was predeceased by his brother Frank (2021).  He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.  Ted was especially attentive to his mother leading up to her passing in 2021.

After graduation from OSCVI Ted studied music at the University of Toronto and then at McGill in Montreal.  He was a certified massage therapist and practiced this occupation for several years in Owen Sound.  He also studied computer science at a high level and was very proficient with technology.  Subsequently he was an employment counsellor for a government agency.

Ted enjoyed family gatherings with great enthusiasm, contributing casseroles, stews and gourmet desserts to the buffet table. We always knew when Ted had arrived – his loud hearty laughter filled the house.

At quieter times Ted was content to relax with a cup of tea or glass of wine, listening to a podcast or classical music, while knitting outrageously colourful yarn into sweaters and socks. He was an avid reader and researcher and could contribute to a conversation on any topic.  Ted was especially happy meeting up with his friends or chatting on-line with his many acquaintances.  He was a unique personality and we loved him for it. 

Cremation has taken place and the family will gather for a celebration of Ted’s life at a future date.  In Ted’s memory, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation at https://www.heartandstroke.ca/
