Dad... Honeybun to Peanuts of 67 years. His smile, infectious. His devotion to his family and fur babies, inspirational. Through untiring service to his community, a Lions member of 57 years, a true humanitarian. His love for music, dance, boating, cars and the odd rum and coke, will be truly missed.

George passed peacefully at Chapman House Hospice, Owen Sound with his loving family by his side on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Ev “Peanuts” (nee Sensabaugh). Loving Dad of Danette and her husband John Denbok, Michele and her husband Daryl Ewan, Georgia and her husband Steve Rose, and Charlene Bernier. Proud Grandpa of Sara (Rob), Johnathan (Corrine), Scott (Victoria), Aunah, Malcolm, Leah, Ryan (Zoe), Jordan, Trent (Haley), Keaton (Rachel), Brawley, Jared, and Julia; and Great Grandpa of 10. Predeceased by his parents Frederick and Dora (nee Murphy), his brother Jack Barnes, and his parents-in-law, Charles and Margeurite Sensabaugh.

A service for Lions Members will be held at 6:30pm on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the Tannahill Funeral Home, 1178 4th Ave West, Owen Sound, with visitation for family and friends to follow from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the First United Church, 435 21st Street West, Owen Sound. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound.
