James Robert MacKay

Peacefully, at Summit Place, Owen Sound on Thursday, November 3, 2022 in his 91st year. Jim, beloved husband of the late Wilma Blanche (nee Redner). Loving father of Don and his wife Christine of Windsor, Bob and his wife Debbie of Carleton Place, the late Ellen Peltsch and her husband Tom of Port Elgin, Ken and his wife Tamara of Owen Sound, and Linda MacKay of Waterloo. Proud Grandfather of Jaime-Lynn (Karl), Melissa (Darren), Lindsay, Alicia, Craig (Lindsay), Kevin (Jessica), Sarah (Dan),and Jesse (Taia); and Great Grandfather of Logan, Spencer, Violet, Claire, Carson, Kyran, Liam, Kade, Veronica, Sabrina, Molly, Ryker, Mae, James, and Luke.  Dear brother of Harry MacKay and his wife Margaret of Ottawa, the late Bill MacKay and his wife Barbara (Roblin) of Bellville, and the late Donald MacKay; and brother-in-law of the late Marilyn and her late husband Larry Langman of Rednersville, the late Beverly and her husband Fred Futers of Belleville, the late Ron Redner and his wife Laura of Kelowna BC, Jim Redner and his wife Mary of Ottawa, the late Gord Redner and his wife Lynda of Belleville, the late Margaret and her husband John Anderson of Vernon BC, Eleanor and her husband David Austin of Grand Rapids MI, Mary and her husband Dick Todd of Peterborough, the late Sylvia and her husband Jack Broad of Toronto, and the late Joy. Jim will be missed by his nieces and nephews Bill (Cory), Peggy, David, Valerie (Don), Michael, Robin (Colleen); his grand niece Laura (Behm) Hunter (Hanley Hunter); and his cousins Rita Carriere, Ken Burgess (Mary), Shirley Langford-MacKay (Bob), Bruce MacKay (Yvonne), Bob Walker (Edna), Dan Walker (Judy), Cora Flagler (nee Walker), Andy Walker (Terri), and the late John Walker.

Friends will be received at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 6, 1450 2nd Ave West, Owen Sound on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 1:00pm until the time of the memorial service at 2:00pm.

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
