Pauline Marie Therese (Lassaline) Dean

Pauline Marie Therese Dean, nee Lassaline, passed away quietly after a long illness at age 96 at her home in Balmy Beach, Ontario, on Friday, August 25. 2023.

Pauline, beloved mother of six, was the eighth of nine children of Denis Joseph Lassaline and Alice Marie Lassaline, nee Janisse. Pauline is predeceased by her husband, Raymond Joseph Dean, of Goderich, and one of her six children, Timothy Craig Dean, of Toronto. Pauline is also predeceased by four brothers, Roland, Gerald, Harvey, and Armand and two sisters, Lucile Lassaline King, and Lorraine Lassaline Dietrich. All except Roland were married and all their spouses have passed away as well.

Pauline was a beautiful person and soul who improved the lives of all around her with her kind, caring and empathetic personality. She was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed, a sympathetic ear when required, and donate any possession to improve the lives of others. Her charitable endeavors knew no bounds.

Pauline is survived by her sisters, Arthemise Lassaline Lalonde and her husband Bill Lalonde of Orillia, and Clarice Lassaline Dalton of Kingsbridge, Ontario. She is also survived by five of her children, Eugene Dean, of Virginia, Douglas Dean, of Toronto, Meg Dean, of Owen Sound, Denis Dean and his wife, Paulette Witherow Dean, of Colorado, and Patricia Dean, of Toronto.

A funeral mass for Pauline will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at St. Mary’s and the Missions Catholic Parish, 554 15th Street East, Owen Sound. Following the funeral mass, the family would like to invite friends to join them at 12:30pm for a gathering at Pauline’s home, 251 Balmy Beach Road, Owen Sound.
